DRONE DOMES!!!! Hahahaha, brilliant! It's incredible that sizing is so different from brand to brand - I have four in wrappers that need to be tried, and they range from a 30F (!) to a 32DD. Bizarre!

Great post. We complain today, butimagine the bad old days of girdles (how the hell did you pee in those things?), and bra cups that looked like cruise missiles or go back in time further to the tightly laced corset days.

I was laughing myself silly while reading this. You are my absolute favorite blogger :) And speaking of bra sizes - I just went and got myself messured 2 weeks ago. 34F! Like wtf?? I kept thinking to myself that it couldn´t be right, but for some mystery reason the bra fits perfectly.

Ha ha this is a great post. I never get myself measured, I take after my Dad in the boob department and invariably bra measuring assistants are the amplest in that area and look pityingly on my sad puppy's ears of a bosom. However despite that I have grooves in my shoulders from bra straps - how did that happen? I didn't get on with the new M&S one either.

Thanks for reminding me I'm due for new bras. Can't wait for all the "hands on" help you get. Being fitted properly certainly helps the ego.

Ahh the good ol bra fitting woes! lol For years and years I have always been 34D/DD, and then I ventured into La Senza, and somehow went to a mighty 34F!! WTF indeed! I thought nope that can't possibly be right, and I went else to be re-measured, and blow and behold I was a 34D/DD again! Went elsewhere earlier this year, and now im a 32E! :/ The bra actually suffocates me, but the bra fitting lady convinced me it'll stretch over time . . .6months later I still feel like someone has firm grip of my ribcage and I can't breathe!!! I went to the launch of Boux Avenue, got remeasured, and would you believe I am back to my 34D/DD! lol Bra shopping is far too stressful imo lol.

Totally agree re sizing descrepancies! However surely if you feel the size is really small surely the fitter shouldn't be trying to get you to wrench into it? I so much prefer trying them on myself! X

Jane you need to go to Victoria's Secret asap, literally. I've tried all the different bra's on offer in the uk and nothing compares to Victoria's secret, and they don't measure you all crazy either. They have a plethora of options for you to choose from and you can easily find a bra that won't lift your boobs to your nose and have enough padding without making your boobs look like drones! I spent hours in the fitting room trying all the bra's imaginable when it opened a few weeks ago and haven't looked back since. I recently wore my good coverage, non drone boob like, underwired bra on an 8 hour journey and forgot I was even wearing one. it's the most comfortable I've ever been in a bra. It's called the 'lined demi'. Let me know if you plan to go and if it works out for you! xx

Talkin of Victoria Secrets - I went along the other day and loved the store, experience but was hugely disappointed with the amount of padded bras. All these stores just seem to cater for extra padding, I'm 32D (or DD at times) and the last thing I need is any extra! They had a handful of gorgeous lace only ones so I picked up 2 of them. They fit fabulously but I'm still annoyed that with all the thousands of bras in there I can get a choice of 2 types! I may give Triumph a go as they look like they may have a better selection. Great piece!

Am in my sixties, probably the oldest person who reads this blog!
Used to be a lovely little 34A in my twenties, was a size 10. Am now a size 12 so have done ok but huge boobs!
I have always, always been fitted at John Lewis, have nothing but praise for them and they have such an amazing range of stock. However, they dont find it easy to fit me well so recently have gone to Rigby and Peller in Bond Street. They don't measure you - they just look at you in your existing bra. Then they bring you half a dozen perfectly fitting bras and you want them all!
