Whilst I enjoy your blog, you really need to learn how to take photos in focus.

How is the color payoff? Are the shadows richly pigmented?

people are very brave and clever with their criticism when they are anon, aren't they?

How about you tell Jane your name, anon? At least she's putting herself out there and you're doing nothing useful I can see except mean-minded, pointless sniping. Which is really rather pathetic.

What impresses me the most about this little set is the textured rose design on the eyeshadows. So pretty!

Would love to see your blog Anon! ;)

Love the look of this, although i might accidentally try and put my phone and keys in it if I was tipsy!

This is so beautiful, I'd be worried about spoiling it by using it! And your pictures are fine, we can still see what we need to.

I would love to get this palette just for the "clutch" itself! How pretty! But I guess so are the eyeshadows inside!

Ummmm why anonymous??? I am sure Jane can cope with some criticism!! Its very hard to take pics whilst holding something yourself.

The Palette is lovely to look at but I am not sure of the shades, I do love the finish though.

New pictures are much better!

I'll be honest though and side with the Anon, only because whenever you take pictures of anything they are always either very low quality, dark, or out of focus. It simply just decreases the blog quality, I feel the same way about beaut.ie and others, - I would have taken it as constructive, not vindictive.

Still love your blog! :)

Gorgeous. No surprise there. I got a limited edition lip quad for Christmas last year and cried when it ran out. The colours were spot on and I've never used such a great formula before.

I have just stumbled upon you blog and have to say I love it! As for the criticism you are getting for your pictures just ignore it! We can see the pictures perfectly fine and to me the words on a blog are much more important than the images!

The pallette itself looks beautiful! I wouldn't want to use it! I'd just sit and look at it lol! Look forward to reading more of your posts!

I have just started my own blog and would really appreciate it if you could have a little peek and let me know what you think? I appreciate that you must be extremely busy but it would make my day if you could have a little look :)

Dear Anon if you are fussy about pictures may I suggest you buy a magazine instead of reading a free blog.

Thanks for the post Jane xx

Just quite speechless!
Whilst the pics may be out of focus, at least she has gone to the effort of taking them, and blogging about the products. What have you done lately?
And whilst the criticism may be warranted, I would be inclined to take it more seriously if it wasn't signed anonymously....make makes me want to dismiss it as complete codswallop without further consideration.

Hi Ava - yes, pigments are soft focus but good. Milly, they're not always out of focus but I do agree they are sometimes.. I don't have a professional camera and as you can see photography isn't a key skill! I think Anon just came over as rather demanding and there are ways and 'ways' to say a thing. I'd say Anon needs to work on communication skills while I go to photography class!

Everyone else: thanks for getting my back on this.. you're really kind and it's enormously appreciated. x

It wasn't my intention to be snipey or bitchy. If I wanted to do that I would have just said "Jane, your photos are really rubbish and useless".

I left my comment because the post is titled Dior palette swatched - and therefore the whole aim of it was to show readers what the palette & colours looks like IRL. Having blurry photos then makes the post redundant - I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that. No one would ever tell you this if they could not leave their comment as anon.

Jane - you often have access to products before other beauty bloggers, you should use it to your advantage! I am assuming you are using a point & shoot camera. All you need to do when taking a close-up is change your camera to macro mode. This means just turning the dial to the flower icon.

from the "rude bastard rude rude rudeness" anon

britishbeautyblogger said...

Anon: and I added in some more that were hopefully more in focus used with the macro facility. So, we're done.
