what a wonderful idea, shame they won't do it over in the UK would create such a positive outlook for women in modern times. (Do you think I can use it as an excuse to get my husband to cook for the night?)

Happy woman's day everyone! x

I'm from Ukraine, so I miss all the celebration, but more of the AWARENESS that this day is exist! At least in UK people know about it, when in US barely anyone does :( (I live in US too).

It is certainly not a day off in Poland, though women still often receive small gifts or flowers.

Women in China (I suppose this is more of a communist/socialist holiday) get half a (or a whole) day off as well. Sometime I just think the existence of the holiday emphasizes the different treatment women get (highlight that we are "weaker" thus need a special day to celebrate being what we are).

С 8 марта! Пусть первый подснежник подарит Вам нежность, весеннее солнце подарит тепло, а мартовский ветер подарит надежду, и счастье, и радость, и только добро!)))
