The best surprise package I've won definitely has to be when I got an award from P&G. The minute I had found out I won, I had a guy knocking on my door with the biggest bouquet of flowers and a bag with a framed illustration personalised by Quentin Jones and a cupcake. Very thoughtful. @muslimahb
The best gift I ever sent was a diary to someone very special on the other side of the world, with a letter to open every week that they were away :) we never felt apart.Milly x
Best surprise present I ever received was when my daughters pooled all their pocket money together and made a box of beauty bits for me. They were 5 & 6 at the time. It contained, some make up from the local chemist, all pinks a hairbrush and some combs and a bottle of home made perfume, rose and lavender water, they asked my mum how to make it.
I still have the box they made. Best present ever!
The best surprise I received in the post was a mermaid costume when I was four. Mum ordered it for me after I fell in love with it in a shop and it arrived in a huge box on my birthday. Didn't think anything could rival that, until I saw this beauty box!
The only surprise thing i've gotten is a pet rabbit on easter! Don't worry though it didn't arrive through the post aha! It did come in a box though so technically it's a package right?
The best surprise parcel is one I sent. I had a set of Sigma brushes for a giveaway which ended up going horridly wrong. I didn't want to keep them but I knew Sophie (melovemakeup) really wanted a set. So I dropped them in the post to her where they went to a very good home.
Woohoo! You're so generous, I gave up after spending all morning refreshing the page.
The best surprise parcel that I ever received was a copy of The Life of Pi from my best friend. A long term relationship had ended and she thought I might need something uplifting, affirming and that brought a bit of joy. I still treasure that book not only because it's brilliant but because of the kindness that touched it.
Oh poo, scrap that, I didn't read the question properly, lol!
I guess the best surprise package I sent (can't recall receiving any) is a video tape of my daughter (then aged about 2) to my Mum who lives abroad and doesn't see us very often. She was chuffed! :)
The best package I've sent was to my boyfriend, he was working ridiculously hard to finish his uni degree early so we could go on holiday together the next month. To cheer him up and to thank him for being so selfless, I remembered a vinyl he had wanted by his favourite band for years, but it was extremely rare. I was determined, and scoured the Internet for days to find one. I finally found one, snapped it up, and had it shipped to his uni address. Ironically, he was on the phone to me as he went to the post office to pick up his 'mysterious' package, and I've never heard anyone so happy! Sending people you love suprise gifts is better than any gift I've recieved!
You can contact me through twitter at @saraexall Or my make-up artist twitter at @saraemua
The best surprise I ever received was a bouquet of flowers from my quite unromantic now-husband. I was oohing and ahhing over them (I remember wondering aloud if you could eat the ornamental cabbages in the bouquet!?!) until my poor fella finally said "Can you check the card??" I hadn't seen it- inside, he'd written a proposal! The poor bloke had been itching with nerves and there I was wondering if you could eat half of the lovely flowers! (I said yes, of course!)
The best surprise package I've ever had was when I lived abroad and my parents sent me some treats from home! All sorts of food, candy, clothing (wool mostly, being scandinavian! ha!), books and music. Just such a lovely thing to receive when feeling a bit homesick :) My email is bergny91@gmail.com
The best surprise package I have ever received is from my boyfriend on valentines day. We had decided not to get each other antrhing but just have a nice dinner. Off he goes to work in the morning and I go down to make some coffee and there's a bottle of perfume hidden in the water compartment with a little note! I was so surprised because he normally cannot keep a secret at all.
The best surprise I ever sent was beauty-related... my best friend left a well-paid job aged 30 to re-train as an occupational therapist, and is absolutely skint. So I got her boyfriend to ferret around in their bathroom and tell me her choices in beauty products - from moisturiser to shampoo, all the way to razors! - and I bought them all, packaged them up in a pretty box, and made her feel a bit more pampered and better about herself (as well as making her cry a bit, oops).

Being cheesy (shh) my boyfriend once surprised me by sending a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers to my doorstep... its the little things that make me smile:)
I received a goody bag from McDonald's for my amazing art skills for entering a colouring in competition. Well, ok, my sister in law who does art did it but I forgot all about it and one day, I got a phone call that I'd won and I screamed all the way through the street that I'd won a mcdonald's goody bag.
The neighbour's probably thought I was terribly bizarre.
Best package I have received so far has got to be the Tom fled blushed my work friends bought me for my birthday, it's the colour I wanted for ages and it's so expensive, so it was such a treat for me.
Best package I have received was a box of half eaten chocs from my brother for my birthday, This was the best present because it was the only thing he has ever bought me, he put thought into buying something nice for me, which then made us closer.
Btw, he said he ate them because it took me a week to collect them.
What a great giveaway! My best package was a Christmas present from my boyfriend. We had bought a house and had bought all the nick nacks you need. We were moving in after Christmas..so I was still at the family home. There was a huge present under the tree and my whole family were eager to see what he had bought me. I opened it up and it was a box with the same kettle, toaster that we had bought for our house. I was crestfallen and baffled and my parent's thought him rather odd. However on opening the box I found that it actually contained a huge box of gorgeous Molten Brown goodies. So it seems I was dating a very thoughtful joker! Boyfriend is now my husband of 6 years next month :-)
The best surprise present we ever gave was on an Easter Sunday, my hubby and myself plus about 40 other Harley davidson bikers went as a surprise to a children's home for the severely disabled to deliver easter eggs. To see their faces as the noise of all the bikes came in and their smiles as they were given little rides around the grounds is something I'll never forget.
my over-riding memory is of a little girl aged 8 with severe learning difficulties laying full out on the leather seat whilst my husband kept the bike revving up at a standstill - she had the biggest smile ever!
A fantastic day for us let alone the young people.
THE BEST package I can think of was a pallette of RIMMEL make up I won in a magazine competition in 1983!! I was not allowed make up so had to hide it from my mum! I was beside myself with delight! Being 15 was desperate for some Lippy!!!! ; ). @millybird.
Years ago a package of Liz Earle goodies arrived by post and I was so confused (but extremely happy) as I hadn't ordered anything and there was no note to say why I'd received it. Eventually I worked out it was from a Cosmopolitan competition I'd entered several months before! I didn't feel like I was keeping someone else's parcel after that! Haha.
The best gift I've ever received was my son Kamren who arrived by surprise and ended up being born on my sisters sofa with no midwife or dr present. Lovely present indeed :)
The greatest present that I found at my doorstep was actually a person. It was a few years ago and I had just moved to Holland to become an au pair. The beginnings were very difficult and I was feeling homesick like crazy. I was sitting in my room, all miserable and then I received a phone call from my dad, telling me to open the front door. All intrigued, I went outside and there he was! He "delivered" himself to me all the way from Poland. That was an amazing "package"!
The best package I received was from my sister. I had been going on and on about this YSL lip tint/gloss and she surprised me by buying me one and it also included a nice box and was wrapped up really nicely. I do have the best sister ever!
Oh awesome giveaway, I missed out on this because the site kept crashing for me, I was gutted! I have never received a surprise package as such, but I have sent one. My best friend lives in Norway and doesn't have access to many famous beauty brands over there. For our first package exchange, I spent months preparing a super package for her, with custom made chocolate from my hometown, indie make up brands which cost a bomb to ship to Norway, some Lush goodies (also very expensive in Norway), lashes, drugstore must haves, a palette she had been lusting after, yadda yadda yadda. I had the MOST fun preparing this, packaging this and most of all, hearing her joy when she opened it! Best of all she had no idea how big this package would be or what I had put in it. So much fun :) Twitter - @blogofshadows GFC name - Marvelle Email - blogofshadows@hotmail.co.uk
The best surprise package I sent was this Christmas. My friend has been living abroad for 3 years and was in Australia over Christmas and really missing home as he had recently moved there and didn't know anyone. I sent him a glass snowflake tree decoration, lots of Christmas Cadbury chocolate, newspapers, a picture of us together as well as his Christmas present. From @theothervw martin.wilson87@btinternet.com
The best package I have received ever, was from my family, because I'm on a school away from home, a year. Inside there was candy, chips, icecoffee, facemasks, postcards, stamples and so many goodies. Not very big things, but things, that mean a lot to me, because it's from people I love, and they know exactly what I like<3
Oh gosh, this is really embarrasing. One of the best suprises I've had recently was a small plastic Hello Kitty dolls house from my mum for Christmas. I adore Hello Kitty, she knew that, so got me the most adorable little play house thing! I actually have it on one of my shelves in my bedroom. People must think I'm mental but I don't care - it's HK and it was from my most favourite person in the world! And yes, I'm 21 :P
The surprise package I was most proud of making was one for my best friend and neighbour when I was 11. I made her an activity booklet where I included my favourite comics, crosswords (I made myself) and word searches (also made those myself). She was moving to a different country and I didn’t want her to be bored/upset on the plane. I would say Glossy box was my best surprise, but only if it included the same goodies as this AMAZING box.
When I was having one of those horrendous weeks my best friend sent me a box of two sugar mice from fortnum & mason. One pink and one white. I call her mummy mouse and she calls me baby mouse. Don't ask me why!
The best surprise present I've ever received was a gorgeous Mulberry handbag I'd had my eye on. My mum and dad let me open all my christmas presents, then my mum appeared with a huge cardboard box and said 'oops we missed a present'. I cried, it was the best present ever. xxx
The best surprise package(s) I've sent has to be all the Hello Kitty gifts I give my little niece. She adores her Hello Kitty lip balms and nail polishes. I love seeing her look so happy and excited!
Awesome giveaway, esp since there's no Selfridges near me and the website kept crashing *sniff*
Best surprise received: when I was about 10, I really liked this painting I saw. My late uncle surprised me by buying it and hanging it in my room. It wasn't even my birthday or anything, but uncle was fond of surprises. It was nothing valuable, but I always loved it and it still hangs in my old room.
Best package I sent (I hope): A friend was in another country and feeling very down after a major break up and homesickness etc etc. So I sent him a box of English goodies, incl enough Dairy Milk to turn into a chocolate bar:-)
The best package I ever recieved was a true 'lady and the tramp' style gift, when my best friend bought me a little puppy for my birthday. I have never cried so much in my life! (ok, that might be a lie, Dear John had me pretty much weeping!)
I once received a box of Lindor chocolates in the post, with a note saying they were from my secret admirer. As it turns out they were from my best friend and they certainly brightened up my day and made me feel special. :)
@Tbeautyblog My best surprise package was my bright green dr martens that I got for my birthday among with other things this stood out to me I was so happy I honestly cried and I always wear them!!! Xxxx
The best gift I ever sent was too a uni friend who just started her new job in another city, she was stressed and homesick so I decided to send her a package filled with all her favourite treats! It included sweets and beauty items such as nail polish, face masks and jewellery! She loved it and it reminded her that she was not alone!
The best surprise package we ever received was when our grandma snuck a kitten home in her handbag (on the train and everything) we loved it! not so much our mam who didn't want us to have one! but who can say no to a cute kitten in a handbag!
My best surprise was on my wedding day - My husband had a bouquet of red roses sent to my mum and dads house as well as a wrapped up present of my favourite perfume. This was good considering he's never sentimental like that! lol xx
My best surprise was my little nephew arriving just days before my birthday, in June. He wasn't due to be born until July, and when my sister's waters broke four weeks early, I was so excited for my parents first grandchild to make an appearance. When my sis and I calmed down we realised this wasn't necessarily good news, and a long, complicated labour would ensue.
But after a difficult birth and a sick first few days, I have the most beautiful little nephew! And I have turned into one of THOSE people... "Have you seen this picture of baby J?"
it would have to be the book i sent to the man i was falling in love with, along with a goodbye letter which explained why i HAD TO walk away - you may be thinking, how is that the best? you're right, it hurt like hell (still does) but at least i managed to be open and honest about my feelings something i historically struggle with @FrannieWTF
The best surprise package I've received was from an ex, more fudge than I've ever seen before or since! Right at the start of my diet, in true man-timing style... @JustJesssBlog :)

The best gift I've ever had ( until now) is when one day smth like 15 years ago I opened the door to enter my appartment and I saw a little puppy of a german dog coming to welcome me! svetaoni@gmail.com
My favourite surprises have been a home decor magazine, a Christmas film DVD, kinder eggs and an amazing body lotion, when I've been ill. My boy Pretty much gets me this stuff when I'm proper poorly and it never fails but to cheer me up.
Great giveaway, very kind of you to part with the box! @amyknowsbest
I know Elaine has entered your competition above but had to share this one too (hope that's ok).
The best package I ever received was a huge bag of subways southwest sauce!! my boyfriend went to many subways and tried to bribe a lot of staff and it eventually paid off! it was the best surprise Christmas present ever (if you can't already tell I am addicted to subway!).
The best parcel I ever received was an Mindless Self Indulgence CD from my boyfriend. It was expensive or anything, but it was the thought behind me that melted my heart. I had been after the CD for ages and because I managed to buy two by accident, he sent one to me in the post as a surprise.
The best package I have ever received is going to sound so cheesy but I was going through a rough time with my family and was just not a happy bunny and my boyfriend and friends got together and made me a collage book of lots of photos and happy memories and sent it to my house to cheer me up! And that it did! Put a big smile on my face :) would be lovely to have some pamper products to try with this beauty box! Twitter name @judithclyne Email clynejudith@gmail.com
When I'm I'll, when boy surprises me with little local shop gifts. They will include things like kinder eggs, home decor magazines, rubbish Christmas films and lip balms. I am a lucky girl, but it's these little things that make me smile the most.
My mom sent me a hug. She sewed a long soft arm with a hand on each end that I could wrap around myself whenever I missed her. Best surprise package ever. @LisaLiseSkin
The best surprise parcel I ever received was from my old flatmate from university who moved back to Korea after completion of her course. She has a habit of randomly sending parcels when I least expect it.
This one time, it was really the oddest assortment of bits and pieces ever, which she thought (and rightly so) I would appreciate. Hello kitty wash-up sponges, hello kitty korean style cutlery and lots of sweeties. Although nothing was high in monetary value, it was really touching that she had thought of me and sent me something as a kind gesture. It really made me smile that week.
Best surprise package was from my current boyfriend back in the day when he was trying to 'woo' me. It was near Christmas and I'd complained about advent calendars (as I'm allergic to chocolate) to him previously. He bought me an advent calendar, took out all the chocolate pieces and replaced each day with a little note that said a reason why he liked me. Needless to say I finally agreed to be his gf after that move! My twitter ID is @shop_miintage xx
The best package I've ever received? Not a conventional one. After meeting and making friends with some lovely (albeit eccentric) Swiss guys in Berlin we parted ways while they carried on their trip round Europe ending in the uk with a whistles top tour of Scotland. I'd been away again on holiday myself and returned to the promise of a package from our new friends. A haggis. A haggis that had been sent royal mail first class, through my letterbox and left to fester for nearly a fortnight. SURPRISE!
My best surprise present was my daughter, A 30 minute labour and I delivered her myself on my own in the car when my husband went for help....THAT was a surprise!!!!
The best surprise I gave was for my fiance. I'm in university in Southampton and had told him I wouldn't be able to make it home for his birthday, then saying to him I would be spending that weekend at my brothers in Portsmouth. However I had actually arrange with my family to catch the train home and surprise him that weekend. My other brother then pick me up from the train station and took me to the party my fiance was at. Not only did I end up surprising him but I surprised everyone else too as nobody else at the party knew I would be back for that weekend! :)
I'm not entering to win this product but to say thank you for the original post telling us about this product :D I signed up to be notified and thanks to my insomniac ways, got the email at 6 am and managed to buy one straight way so thanks :D
Hi, I received a beautiful package from my husband some years ago , a ring in many ,many boxes...so cute ! Twitter : @cameliaadriana Email : andrasescu.camelia@gmail.com Thank you
Hello :) For my parent's 40th wedding anniversary in November, my dad, my siblings and I planned a surpise long weekend in Le Touquet in France for my mum. She had no idea where she was going or that we would be there... The look on her face when she saw us all there at the restaurant was priceless! Will never forget it. Lots of love, @sophiehemmingsx
The best package I have ever received is when I received treats from back home (Philippines). The foods were just so yummy especially when I haven't had them for so many years and I also received variety of Asian make up brands that I cannot get hold of, even online. So I was very happy with the package I got.
When I was diagnosed with MS a couple of years ago, my friend (whom I have not met yet) who lives in Vancouver sent me some Winter Olympics souveniers, some Canadian literature, 5 MAC lip glasses, a bg and a DVD of herself showing me how to make that most famous Canadian dish of Poutine (basically chips, gravy and cheese).
It was the most wonderful thing anyone had ever done for me, especially as we've never met each other in real life.
If I win it, I'm sending it on to her. My Twitter is MsWildthyme :)
Okay this is going to be super soppy but.... The best surprise package I have ever received was a package of flowers on Valentines day from my boyfriend on one month (I lived in Cumbria, he lived in Bristol) -- super unexpected and he managed to impress my Mam!
I now live in Britsol and we have been together for 6 and a half years!
After bitching to my best friend about how I was always single on valentine's day she sent me a cauliflower with the words 'you are not alone' written on it in pink icing!! Then, the following year, it was a cinnamon bagel that told me 'you are not alone'. This year, I'm hoping for a marrow- or a boyfriend :)
The best package I have ever received was my boyfriend! Sounds funny doesn't it?! But we were going through a tough time, and he travelled from his home 300 miles t'up norf, all the way down to London and knocked on my door just to tell me he loved me. It made me fall head over heels for him again, but doesn't mean that I forgive him for leaving mess everywhere nowadays!
The best surprise package I ever recieved was when my mom decided to get me uggs off asos never told me and when they arrived in the post I was over the moon best surprise yet however winning this would be a close second :p Jmoorhead29@hotmail.com @jaynem29
The best surprise I received in March was a parcel from my daughter Leila .I've had to take a break from my nursing career to relocate and look after my mum who's elderly and has Alzheimer's. It was an IPad and I can say its been a godsend. Being a carer can be extremely isolating but now I dont know how I managed without it! Twitter: examplesno1fan suzyad@hotmail.com
Best surprise package was from my daughter Leila . I've had to take a career break from nursing and relocate to Yorkshire to look after my mum who is elderly and has Alzheimer's It can feel very isolating being a carer. The package was an IPad and I can honestly say I don't know how I ever managed without it! Just brilliant! Twitter examplesno1fan suzyad@hotmail.com
Best package I received was from a boyfriend. He bought me a single cassette tape of my fave song but decided to play a joke buy wrapping it in a VERY big box. He wrapped boxes within boxes so by the time I got to the smallest box, I finally got to my cassette tape LOL
On my 21st birthday I got a big brown envelope sealed with my date of birth on the label. Inside was a letter my dad had written to me on the day I was born.. Along with the papers from that day and the number one reccord. I cried my eyes out reading the letter it was so amazing. @EmmaCrawford
There are two inter related. The first best surprise I have ever sent was in June this year to my mum in hospital following cancer treatment. I sent a video from my kids aged 3 and 5 telling Nannie all the things they had been up to in the month or so she was too poorly to see them. The day she got to see it she was so happy. Mum passed away 3 days later. The second is all the gifts my mum has passed on through her selfless beautiful self! She has made me a better person.... and I heard from so many of her colleagues and friends after that they felt that way too... I think I have had such a great gift in having someone who inspired so many others as a mum! Pampertherapies@btinternet.com ------------------
The best surprise package I ever got was actually from another blogger (Heather from Notes From Lapland) I was going through a particularly rough time and she sent me a package all the way from Lapland with a bar of chocolate, a reindeer postcard and some other Lapland-ish trinkets. It was the nicest surprise cos it goes to show that you can have real friendships with people that you've got to know on line :-)
hi there! the surprise one was..let me see. once my hubbs ordered me stuffed animals from those old Soviet cartoons, Gena, Cheburashka...it was a huge surprise, considering that my husband is portuguese :-)
the one i sent happened just this monday - my brother got married and a video camer i sent him arrived just the day before wedding!! who-hooo!
On my husbands 25th birthday last month I wanted to make it really special so I decided to make him a treasure hunt to all the places we would be going and to all his gifts. His first clue came in the mail on the morning of his birthday and from then on the whole day was filled with parcels and clues all leading on to something else. We started with pancakes at the local diner, then went to the lake and played games, we had a picnic and fed some squirrels, next we went to the cupcake shop and picked up his specially made birthday Batman cupcakes! Then we went to the cinema. We then went out for dinner (pizza, his fav) and then to the cinema again (we're big movie buffs). Then I had booked us into a hotel to stay over night. It was an AMAZING day and we both loved it. At every stage there was a surprise package pointing him to the next outing. There were little maps with hearts over the place for when he could't guess. And each package had something interactive. Such as homemade popcorn and holder with the batman symbol burried at the bottom for going to see The Dark Knight Rises, a pancake mix spelling out "for 2" and other goodies. It worked perfectly and he loved it!
My best surprise was my cat! For my seventh birthday on our way back from my grandad's house, we took a detour and ended up at this ladies house who was selling kittens! I nearly screamed when my mum told me to pick which kitten I wanted! :)
The best package i ever got was from my little brother. When i first moved to central London, from rural Yorkshire, I was very homesick. One thing i missed most was the way my mum made porridge for my brother and I every morning. I alwasy let my little brother chose what topping i'd have - sometimes he'd make a smiley face with chocolate drops and others he'd try write my name in honey or jam. One cold and wet morning in November a package arrived on my desk that was fileld with every different type of porridge available and a mixture of toppings. My little brother had written me a card with a photo of him with all our dogs and donkeys on the front and inside telling me how much he missed our breakfasts together. I was so overwhelemed with his thoughtfulness and love I cried in front of my boss! brionyepollard@gmail.com
Not really a package but best surprise I've ever done is plan a surprise weekend away at a top hotel for mine and my boyfriend's anniversary. The look on his face was priceless!!
The best package I’ve ever received was shortly after I’d moved to central London from rural Yorkshire. I was very homesick. One of the things I missed the most was the way my Mum used to make porridge for my little brother and I every morning. My brother always used to choose the topping on my porridge. Sometimes he'd make me a smiley face from chocolate drops, other times he'd write my name with blueberries or make a swirly pattern with jam or honey. One cold and wet November morning a package arrived on my desk which contained every kind of porridge going and a host of different toppings. My little brother had sent me these goodies along with a card with a photograph of him with all of our dogs and donkeys playing in the snow. Inside he written how much he missed our breakfast times together and how it was the favourite part of his day. I was so overwhelmed by his kindness and love I cried in front of my boss! My brother is all grown up now and I will treasure that card always. Whenever I go home, breakfast is what I look forward to most.
The best surprise i've ever got was when my parents surprised me on my last day of primary school with a trip to Disneyland :) It was honestly just like the adverts on TV but I cried with excitement. Thankfully I was 11 so my mother had packed my suitcase otherwise 24hours notice for a holiday would send me into despair!
My friend is coeliac and loves British food, but she lives in Texas, where gluten -free scones are not so easy to come by, so for her birthday I sent her a package full of gluten -free English muffins, buns, scones, biscuits, cakes, shortbread and puddings. She also loves discovering new beauty brands, so I threw in some samples and small gifts from British brands, such as Figs &Rouge. She then wrote to me saying it was "all her favourite things" - it really is the best feeling when you know you'd given them exactly what they needed. @StilettoLady
When I was 10 my 2 year old sister ate my goldfish called shearer (she'd went to pick it up to give it a kiss and swallowed it!!) My nana rung metro radio who then arranged for me to meet alan shearer and he gave me a new goldfish, best surprise ever! @shellyd1987 xx
The best surprise package I received was from my sister when she was travelling New Zealand as she had been gone for 6 months and was staying out for a year so it was lovely to know she was still thinking about me (and the postage was really expensive!). She sent a postcard, a leather bracelet (which I wore until it turned my wrist yellow as the dye rubbed off) and a set of posters from the Lord of the Rings tour.
When I was 12 I decided I was going to make a suprise breakfast in bed for my nan. I went out and bought lots of goodies for this, including some warburton's crumpets. Unfortunately, when I came to open these they were completely green with mould. I was so upset I rang the telephone number on the pack to complain. A week later, while I was at school, a Warburton's van pulled up at my house. I came home to find my (slightly bewildered) nan surrounded by loaves of bread, pancakes, t-shirts and all sorts of Warburton's merchandise and produce. They take customer relations very seriously over at Warburtons! lianakontos@hotmail.co.uk
My best friend in the world happens to live in Hong Kong. We met at university, and then she had to move back to the far east. That was six years ago, and although we rarely get to spend longer than a couple of weeks a year together she still knows me better than anyone else. So when I was going through a particularly rough patch in my life, and having told no one the full extent of my troubles, I was surprised - and alarmed - when a Tesco delivery man turned up at my door with a handful of bags that I hadn't ordered.
After we had come to agree that yes it was actually for me, I opened the delivery to find a selection of the most thoughtful and personal gifts you could manage to garner from the shelves of a supermarket. Foods that we cooked together whilst at uni or reminded us of our travels, random products that had hidden meanings, obscure magazines that we used to go searching for to satiate our fashion cravings, simple home comforts, such as a packet of tea and a bar of dark chocolate.
That care package meant more to me than almost anything I have ever received. And I'd like to reciprocate to my bestie with this beauty box - should I win it!
This box sounds absolutely amazing! I was indeed looking out for it but didn't think it would happen near 6am!
I like giving surprises than receiving it mostly so the best package is one of the ones I sent (but 'best' being subjective in this case as you will find out below).
At the time I was living in London and my little brother, who is 5 years my junior and who I completely adore and spoil, was in a boarding school.
Normally I would go down and visit him in person for his birthday though he doesn't like to make a fuss over birthdays being a bloke. Unfortunately, that year, due to job interview schedules I was not able to make the visit.
So I arranged for a big (and I meant big) box to be filled with helium filled balloons of Winnie the Pooh and friends, because I knew he still kept his Pooh doll from childhood somewhere in his room outside the eyes of his mates, big box of chocolates for him to share and 17 DVDs that he did not have in his thousand-something collection as he was turning 17.
I also sent a HUGE birthday card filled with how much I loved him, how adorable he is etc. in is individual HUGE envelope.
.....and on his actual birthday I got a long (and slightly furious) message from my darling little brother saying how EMBARRASSED he was that he had to pick the box as big as him from the main school since the package was simply too big to be delivered straight to his house etc. etc. etc. but after that, he did follow up with a call saying 'sorry I overreacted... and thank you' so it made my day!
The best surprise package recently: the fact I managed to get my hands on one of these boxes from Selfridges, thanks to your post earlier this week! It is so so so good, I can't wait to try out all the products, but so far the lip balm smells wonderful and the face oil was put to good use last night and I can confirm it's great! Thanks BBB for letting us know!!!!!
The best package I ever got was from a friend who was in New Zealand when I passed my exams...
He sent me a huge cardboard box which was light as a feather. When I opened it - a string of 6 coloured helium baloons floated out and made me laugh out loud. We had a bit of romantic history and had moved on. There was a card that said - flowers are over rated
Was the nicest thing that ever arrived in the post to me :)
Hello. Thanx for your blog, you give a lot of useful information. About package - it was 2004, i won a prize from fashion magazine - 2 tickets to 5 star hotel for week journey? 2 beachwear for men and woman, 2 sunglasses and 2 beach towels. After a bad period of my life it was like a miracle) Zoya
The BEST surprise package I have ever received is actually food related. A frined in Italy whom i ahve not spoken to in a while sent me a box of the most amazing italian desert, Amaretti de Gallarate, which is kind of a mix between Amaratti cookies and macaroons. I was feeling kind of low that day, but this completely re-installed the happieness software, they are so yummy and really can change the day for me.
When I was at boarding school my mom would send me packages with a letter, candy, my favourite magazine, and newspaper clippings she knew I would find funny.
bit of an awkward situation but every christmas my dad's ex-girlfriend from about 20 years ago will send me a giant parcel from Japan where she lives, filled with the cutest things and Japanese candy and beauty products, and every year my dad writes to her telling her to stop but she just ignores him hehe, it makes me happy! :) X @pastel_bambi
Mine is a best surprise package sent to my best friend, who is English and heavily pregnant is living in Austria.
After a Skype session bemoaning the heat and her cravings (English food she couldn't get in Austria)I posted a surprise package containing a Fray Bentos pie, baked beans and Eau Avène Thermal Water spray.
I don't know who was more chuffed: my friend or her beleaguered (somewhat bewildered) American husband!

The best surprise package i had was from a Beauty Swap i did. Even thou i knew it was due i so didn't know how big the box was going to be. It was as tall as my 4 year old daughter lol. We both exchanged the same amount but omg it spent ages to open. I loved it!.
The best surprise package i ever got was when I was only about 16, and it was around valentines day. I was having a really bad day and then i got this parcel, it was nothing amazing it just had some chocolates and a cuddly toy and some love hearts sweets in it. I still have no idea who sent it but it was so nice at a time when i was so unhappy that it made me cry! I think about it every year at valentines day and wonder who the hell sent it to me!
First of all thanks so much for putting this forward as a competition I tried ordering it but it was out of stock so this is really exciting)
The best surprise package I have ever received was about 3 years ago. I unfortunately had lost my job and been out of work for quite a while, so I was at the point where (a) I was quite down and (b) if something wasn’t essential to life I just didn’t buy it. Anyhu, one day a good friend pitched up on my doorstep in London to surprise me all the way from Scotland (I hadn’t seen her in about 2 years) with what can only be described as a care and encouragement package – complete with food, makeup, skin care luxuries and a girls night out. It’s one of the best gifts I have ever received.
Thanks again. My twitter name is @LotionPotionsMe
P.s sorry if this comes up twice, my laptop crashed the first time I pressed submit.
The best surprise package I got was during a one year stay abroad during High School. At first I was a bit homesick, so coming home from school one day and finding a huge box full with German sweets & chocolate, magazines and some CDs from my parents really cheered me up.
What is the best surprise package you have ever received or sent?
it was my birthday and my best friend was on vacation (she told me) so I thought she was that day never came. and then that afternoon's suddenly she stood at the door. and she congratulated me! I was so happy! and she gave me the gift (2 movie tickets, one for her and one for me) it was my best birthday gift (surprise package) ever!
Hi. Only recently found your blog and I think it's great. My best surprise package was from my best friend. I was in hospital for a little while after giving birth to my son. On our first day back home, my best friend dropped off a home-cooked 3 course dinner all packaged up and ready to reheat, so my husband and I could have a little celebration with minimal effort. So thoughtful and it tasted delicious.
The best surprise package I got was a pretty card telling me that my best friend had named her daughter after me, because of our friendship and because she knew I couldn't have children. I wept! She's now 23 and great!
My best surprise parcel I ever received was from my husband.
A box turned up at my desk one day while I was sitting there with my boss. Thinking it was something I'd ordered myself, I ripped it open.
My face immediately turned red as soon as I saw the pink box, and I had a sneaking suspicion that it might be from Agent Provocateur
I tried to hide it but my boss insisted that I open it (nosy!). So I did.
I tried so hard to be mad at him for sending it to my job but how could I be? He had gotten me a gorgeous gift, and more importantly he made my boss speechless for the first time ever. (that was quite a surprise in itself!)
The best surprise present I've ever recieved were tickets to see Chicago in theatre on my 18th birthday as its my fave musical and I wasn't expecting it at all! :) x
My best suprise package was of a canvas photo that my partner had made for me with a picture of our newborn baby boy on! It was the most meaningful thing I've ever got.... I'd love to try this self ridges box to have a bit of mummy pampering time to myself!!
The best surprise gift I've ever received was a bunch of flowers and gifts from Jo Malone when I got some not so great exam results. Totally unexpected and cheered me up straight away!
Hi I POST LOVELY PARCELS OUT EVERY WEEK TO MY BEAUTY GROUP MEMBERS, THEY ALL LOVE THERE PARCELS AND MAKES THEM SO HAPPY, AND I DO SO WITH NOTHING IN RETURN, I MISSED OUT ON THE BOX AND WAS SO GUTTED I CANT BELIEVE THERE IS A CHANCE I COULD WIN ONE, TO BE HONEST THE SELFRIDGES BOX WOULD BE THE BEST PARCEL AND SURPRISE I WOULD EVER RECEIVE, IF I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN YOU, WOULD MAKE ME AS HAPPY AS I MAKE MY BEAUTY GROUP MEMBERS XX
I'd known Mark for years, we lived in the same town, knew a few of the same people, and i worked in the bar where he drank. We were on nodding terms - i thought he was very very cool but he was attached. (to a girl who seemed equally cool, and much much more cooler than me!) But years passed, and would you believe it, he asked me out. He used his friends demo cd to get taking to me, and we still laugh at him about it now.
We absolutely without a doubt fell in love immediately - but of course we both thought we were going mad! We squeezed three amazing dates into five sleepless days and then he had to go to Malaysia for work, for THREE WHOLE WEEKS!
Oh how my heart screamed!!! I didn't even own a computer at that time and it took a whole months wages and a loan off a mate (i was a student!) to get a laptop to email him frantically for those three long weeks! You can safely assume i lived of fresh air, and emails filled with love, hopes and dreams!! I keep the email account active even though i no longer use it, just so i can re read the emails from time to time.
Whilst he was away i kept a scrapbook. I felt so utterly connected to the man - I knew he was my soulmate. I literally documented my life. Photos, gig tickets, drawings, yep, even yucky poetry!! I bought a cheap disposable camera and took photos of odd things. It could hardly close by the time he got back.
He returned at last, gorgeous and bashful, with the most lovely gifts for me, and, in return i gave him the book!
Well he cried. alot! I cried!
It was probably the most unwittingly romantic thing i have ever or will ever do.
This was seven years ago, he's now my husband of five years, so I'm really not sure who got the better gift!
((we both have a tattoo of one of the doodles out of the book, and he's planning getting the camera developed.....!!))
I thought I had been successful & bought a beauty box, I received an email confirmation. However, today, I received a call from Selfridges to say I was one of a handful (!) of orders that were placed, due to a technical error. By way of apology, Selfridges are going to send a different Beauty Box, with one extra item & also, refund my postage & packing. Fingers crossed it's worth it!

The best surprise package I've won definitely has to be when I got an award from P&G. The minute I had found out I won, I had a guy knocking on my door with the biggest bouquet of flowers and a bag with a framed illustration personalised by Quentin Jones and a cupcake. Very thoughtful.
@muslimahb
I love to be given the chance to try these out! I can't really afford higher end products. My twitter name is Callie_a
The best gift I ever sent was a diary to someone very special on the other side of the world, with a letter to open every week that they were away :) we never felt apart.Milly x
@mills_milly

@zozeze zoe.12@hotmail.co.uk xx
Aww, that's so generous.
The best surprise parcel is one I sent. I had a set of Sigma brushes for a giveaway which ended up going horridly wrong. I didn't want to keep them but I knew Sophie (melovemakeup) really wanted a set. So I dropped them in the post to her where they went to a very good home.
@sirvinya
Woohoo! You're so generous, I gave up after spending all
morning refreshing the page.
The best surprise parcel that I ever received was a copy of The Life of Pi from my best friend. A long term relationship had ended and she thought I might need something uplifting, affirming and that brought a bit of joy. I still treasure that book not only because it's brilliant but because of the kindness that touched it.

Good luck everyone! Xxx
Oh poo, scrap that, I didn't read the question properly, lol!
I guess the best surprise package I sent (can't recall receiving any) is a video tape of my daughter (then aged about 2) to my Mum who lives abroad and doesn't see us very often. She was chuffed! :)
Sorry, still not quite there. Twitter is @Anitacska. Thanks.

Just such a lovely thing to receive when feeling a bit homesick :)

@helloitskerry :]
Oh and by the way, I was 7.
What an amazing and generous giveaway.
Best package I have received so far has got to be the Tom fled blushed my work friends bought me for my birthday, it's the colour I wanted for ages and it's so expensive, so it was such a treat for me.

Omg! What an amazing and generous giveaway!
Best package I have received was a box of half eaten chocs from my brother for my birthday, This was the best present because it was the only thing he has ever bought me, he put thought into buying something nice for me, which then made us closer.
Btw, he said he ate them because it took me a week to collect them.
@farrah_gray
Thanks!
It was my baby.
Soppy, but true! I have PCOS (and acne...) and I was unsure whether I could fall pregnant.
Reader, I could. I did. And I love the very bones of him.

@beautyswot

@fayemarieblogs

Tickets to New York which my now husband booked as a surprise!

So much fun :)

@hollyarabella
You are really kind to give your box away!

P.s. NICE GIVEAWAY!:)

I cried, it was the best present ever. xxx
@missjenired

Argh forgot to add my Twitter name: @I_VG sorry:( Brain is shattered after another 12 hour day.
The best package I ever recieved was a true 'lady and the tramp' style gift, when my best friend bought me a little puppy for my birthday. I have never cried so much in my life! (ok, that might be a lie, Dear John had me pretty much weeping!)

This was good considering he's never sentimental like that! lol xx
@chrissy4116
"Have you seen this picture of baby J?"

it would have to be the book i sent to the man i was falling in love with, along with a goodbye letter which explained why i HAD TO walk away - you may be thinking, how is that the best? you're right, it hurt like hell (still does) but at least i managed to be open and honest about my feelings something i historically struggle with

Great giveaway, very kind of you to part with the box! @amyknowsbest

@PheeYoung
The best package I have ever received is going to sound so cheesy but I was going through a rough time with my family and was just not a happy bunny and my boyfriend and friends got together and made me a collage book of lots of photos and happy memories and sent it to my house to cheer me up! Best surprise? Hmm, that would probably be when my boyfriend got me a makeup suitcase full with makeup products!!! <3 I was through the roof! :D
My mom sent me a hug. She sewed a long soft arm with a hand on each end that I could wrap around myself whenever I missed her. Best surprise package ever.
@LisaLiseSkin
Oops, sorry, I forgot to leave my contact detail. @pinkfishpie
SURPRISE!
Missed my twitter! It's @laura_jcrossman

Hello :)
For my parent's 40th wedding anniversary in November, my dad, my siblings and I planned a surpise long weekend in Le Touquet in France for my mum.
@denissevee

Twitter @jaynebecca - Doh sorry! :)

Great giveaway! I think the best surprise package I've received was from my fiance, I had to stay in hospital unexpectedly & went by ambulance so I took nothing with me, it was 4 days before Christmas a few years ago & was really snowing! I hate hospitals & was really miserableness, bored & lonely & knew no one could visit coz the weather was so bad but my fiancé drove in awful weather for 4 hours just to bring me some treats, including my Vaseline for my lips & a chocolate orange :) I was so shocked & surprised & he also arranged for me to come home Christmas Eve so I could spend Christmas day with him & our son & go back to hospital after! He's the best :) avon.shelley@ymail.com
The best surprise package I ever recieved was when my mom decided to get me uggs off asos never told me and when they arrived in the post I was over the moon best surprise yet however winning this would be a close second :p

Pampertherapies@btinternet.com

Now to think how I can top it next year!
Oh no! I forgot my email:

Great Giveaway :)

@StilettoLady

I once received a package from the US, on a bank holiday! That was a great surprise! x

Lots of love from Germany,

The best gift i gave? A scrapbook!
