I've always been impressed with the Casting Creme Gloss. Although the colours always come out darker than the box for me, they stay ages (more than 28 washes), and do fade into a nice natural colour.

This tends to be my standard brand and the exact shade that I have used the last couple of years. I have similar mousy hair to you and like it to be darker and richer but sometimes I would prefer a bit less red as I have cool toned skin. Even when I've had what I thought was a neutral shade done at the hairdressers though it still turns red.

Maybe I should try and be more adventurous and go for a different shade next time. Am contemplating blonde but I think that might be best left to the professionals!

nice shade! I just touched up my roots today with Clairol Nice N Easy in Light Golden Brown since I really Can't get go the Salon with my cast - I gave up Home colouring because husby hated the spatters.

I found the colour faded quickly with the John Freda mousse too, in both the shades I tried, shall give this a try instead next time!

I also hate dying my hair at home, not least because it's such a messy process and I never know which brand to go for - it's the one thing that always stumps me - there's always an endless shelf of boxes and it all so confusing! So thank you for this post - it makes the choice just that little bit easier ;)

I use Casting Creme Gloss in 910 Light Ash Blonde 4-5 times a year. I just love it. It takes away all the brassy yellow and red tones in my hair and leaves a super shiny medium-light blonde colour. Amazing. I think it's pretty easy yo use, you just need to massage it in (it foams a tiny bit). I always apply to the roots first, let that sit for 10 mins and then I put in the rest and rinse after another 10 mins. Works like a charm every time.

Haven't died my hair in over a year but today I woke up with the idea of dying it. I've tried the CCC several times in the past an may use it now, not sure about the shade though.

I normally use creme gloss in the light brown shade but my hair normally comes out with a redish tint! I would like my colour to be a medium brown cool shade without any red or ginger pigment-any shade you can reccomend?

Thank you

I absolutely LOVE Casting Creme Gloss and have tried so many shades, I'm loving their new iced chocolates collection at the moment and although I think the red tint looks great if you're looking for a medium brown cool shade I'd definitely reccomend 513 Iced Truffle or 613 Iced Mocha, both are great shades :)
