I'm so shocked by this - despite all the media hype about unethically made clothes I had never given a thought to where perfumes come from! I'm really going to look at them in such a different light now!!!

Thanks for pointing this up. I'd seen the article and was saddened by it. I'm not Katie Price's target market, but I am a perfume-lover.
If readers are looking for something that's both unusual and not run of the mill, why not try fragrances they know have been made by a passionate 'nose' creating their own perfumes and running their own business. There are quite a few talented perfumers running niche houses out there - from Andy Tauer and Vero Kern, through Ava Luxe and Anya's Garden to Sonoma Scent Studio and AbdesSalaam Attar Profumo.
