My absolute favourite spring fling has got to be chicks. I love around easter time when all the chicks are being born. Its such a beautiful thing and I really see it as signifying the start of life for both the chicks and all nature, as well as the start of spring!

WOW What a giveaway!!

I get in the mood for spring when the weather gets slightly warmer - I can ditch the big winter coat! And when new everything starts to grow again, it just makes me feel happier (sure I have S.A.D) on the downside I have to start thinking about my summer body - lighter nights=time to go for a run after work!

For me, the arrival of spring is marked by the lighter mornings. Waking up and actually being able to see is this best feeling in the world isn't it? Also the 'fresh' smell of a spring dewy morning and of course the fresh dewy makeup that goes with it. I can't wait to move from all the glitter, metallic and berry toned makeup to light and pastel makeup... But probably still with some glitter.

For me it's a combination of things! I change the way I eat/the way I cook. In winter I make so many stews and casseroles and as spring comes I start easing off the "stick to your ribs" type food and more complex salad with grains and meat and light meals to go with the lighter and longer days. I also lighten my makeup and switch the products I use from the nurturing winter balms to spring/summer cleansers. More bright colours and less heavy shades! More daring and experimental colours that pick up the sunshine that's finally emerged from hiding.

But I never lose the red lipstick ;)

My spring fling is my husband! We met in the spring 13 years ago when I was in England studying. I live in Seville, Spain and if you have ever been here in spring, you will never ever forget it. Granted, the winter here is never too cold or rainy, so one would think the arrival of the spring season does not make a huge difference. How wrong can you be!

There are a few days in March when suddenly you go out on the street and feel enveloped by the amazing, subtle fragrance of the orange blossom emanating from the orange trees that line the streets of the old town. It gives you such an intoxicating feeling, a wonderful way to start a workday morning with a smile on your face. Then come Easter that scent gets mixed with the incense dispersed by the Holy week processions that parade around the city all day and night and turn Seville into an incredible festival of art and music.

That's spring for me!

What's your spring fling? What gets you feeling spring-like and fresh after a long winter?

Oooo for me it has to be when the sweet smelling scent of my mum's vanilla plant starts to waft through my bedroom window (the plant is outside in the garden); when it starts to bloom in spring, I instantly kick into 'spring mode'. My body and mind feel refreshed, regenerated and ready to kick start a whole new year, in a whole new me.

This March i'll be popping on a plane to go home and this spring will mean Christmas (the sequil!!) in my household, complete with tree, extended family and turkey with all the trimmings - Its not conventional but i cant wait to hang up my pastels and sundresses and experience my beautiful spring festivites with my family.

Any other year I would have said that for me spring starts right off the day the first bunches of mimosa appear at the florist's. Having lived a few years in the south of France, this is the ultimate symbol of spring for me. The itty bitty woolly flowers are of such a shocking-in-your-face shade of yellow that no one can reasonably think of winter anymore when seeing them. This year however, sping will start as soon as my second son decides to make its way out to discover the world. However bleak and rainy the weather over Paris is after he is born, it WILL be spring in our hearts(thank Goodness it should happen any day, hour perhaps? ^_^)

For me, it's when the light gradually wakes me up in the morning slowly rather than my screeching alarm. It is so much easier to get up in the spring and when you're awake faster and easier you feel so much fresher for the day. xx

Often there's a sudden heatwave around April - it makes everyone happy and hopeful after the short, dark days of winter. When I was young we'd change to our summer uniforms as soon as it was warm. The smell of spring flowers always reminds me of walking to school in the sunshine...

My cats shedding their winter hair. This is the sign spring has come. It's like mother nature tapping on a window pane. Once I brush all their old coat off they glisten in the sun. It's like a rebirth.

I think Spring for me is the culmination of a few little things that combine to make my days a lot brighter! Firstly, I love the lighter mornings- my little girl gets me up at 6 every morning and waking up when it's light rather than dark and depressing is wonderful! Secondly, switching a heavy foundation for a much lighter mineral one makes my morning routine a little nicer and saves me five minutes. Finally, the very best thing is the shedding of layers!! I hate thick wooly clothes and clumpy boots so to go outside in flat ballet pumps, dresses and light jackets is divine!

I get in the mood for spring once all my essays have been handed in...which won't be for quite a long time for me! This is my final year so it'll be even better this year. A bright pedicure and a fresh floral fragrance usually do the trick too!

I lighten everything up from my blusher to nailvarnish and celebrate with a new lipgloss. A glass of something fruity and a de-fuzz and spring is truly sprung! X

For me, it feels like spring the moment I can leave work and notice that it is not pitch black outside yet. It is time to break out the spring clothes, banish the black opaques and wool sweaters to the wardrobe for a few months, and of course to get a mani/pedi with spring colours and to lighten up my lipstick and eyeshadow. Dark colours and spring just don't work.

My Spring Fling is seeing the beautiful colours with the flowers coming back into blossom, nature resurfacing and bringing my nephew out for walks showing him all the new flowers, nature and his inquisitive little eyes taking it all in :) It's my favourite time of the year!

It's my boyfriend's birthday on March 1st so that's when it really feels like we're in the height of spring. We always celebrate with a champagne breakfast in bed, the sunlight streaming through the curtains. We open the window of our bedroom wide and watch the ducks and the ducklings sail down the canal opposite our house which is always lined with daffodils come March. It feels so special and calming.

I know spring is coming when everywhere seems so much brighter and happier as if everything knows that spring is coming. Like when there OS the smell of the fresh and new green grass or the new flowers that are starting to pop out. It's when it is still a bit cold but the sun is shining and thus there is still that certain warm feeling.
Colours such as your spring collection offer that transition feel that is needed from the gloomy winter to the new and fresh spring.

Thanks a lot !!!!!

Spring is ending the daily 20minute search for gloves and hats for the kids, drive g to school in daylight, starting to mow the grass (with enthusiasm, no less) and ditching the dark nails whilst cracking open a new bottle of the brightest pinkest varnish I can find!

Being an April baby, I associate soft pink blossom filled trees to make me feel that spring has sprung. I also imagine them to be lining Parisian streets...
