I'm in desperate need of some advice for the best anti-aging cream available now.
It's for my mother, who's approaching 48. The story is quite long -please bear with me.
My mother used to use the Dior anti-aging skin care range but switched to La Prairie, which is supposedly really good, about 2 years ago. Recently, she's been complaining that her skin felt better during the Dior time, more youthful, less lines etc. and wondered if she should change back. But I'm not sure it's because of the cream or because she's just older! Personally, I think there are yet still better brands out there and would very much like to be advised on that.
Ok, well I would have to highly recommend Skinceuticals - I am currently using Phloretin - a Vitamin C based serum and am very impressed. I've given Skinceuticals moisturisers to friends and they've raved about it. It is not a cheap brand however. I'd also recommend the Elemis Tri-Enzyme range, and if money is no object, Sisley is excellent, particularly for mature skins. She might want to consider some Botox - I really do rate it - there is nothing in the world that gets rid of wrinkles like a shot of the B! Choose a medically qualified practitioner. Lastly, my failsafe cleanser, that I think has genuinely helped my skin stay supple and hydrated is Saaf Pure Cleansing Balm - and I don't take it off with water as recommended but with a mild toning water. It's really hard to settle on a brand when there is such a big outlay involved; always ask for samples before you buy no matter reluctant the sales assistant is and always judge it on what it actually does and not what it promises. Yes, I would and try not to feel initimidated by the sales assistant. If you have any empty little pots, keep them in your bag so if they say they have no samples you can ask for some from the tester pot. It's not bad at all if you keep switching brands - in fact sometimes the only way to understand what suits your skin is by doing exactly that! If your mum has a big budget for skin care then I would really recommend you opt for Sisley - email me (britishbeautyblogger@gmail.com)and let me know if you are based in or near London because I might be able to arrange a special consultation - no promises!
