Glad that you are in Sasa first. There's a shop called Bonjous and I recommend you not to buy things from there.. Generally stuff are cheaper there but most likely that they are expired stuff.

you can check out Colourmix too. they've got very cool Korean products as well, including Lieole.

At the moment Sogo is doing sales. Sogo is a Japanese department store located in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causewaybay. I recommend you go to the one in Causewaybay because it's bigger and more beauty/makeup products are on sale.

Yata (another Jap department store) is doing sales from 24-28, it's in Shatin. You can check that out as well.

Sogo and Yata have brands from all over the world and you will find some cheap deals there.

Happy shopping in HK :)

I just love the idea of a supermarket style makeup boutique -Vogue's May issue featured the
Anna-Marie Solowij and Millie Kendal Beauty Mart concept in HN and I cannot wait, I dream of a shop which is floor to ceiling stacked shelves of high end and mass market brands, it is such a visual feast and to me really adds weight and reverence to the term browsing. Thanks for this, I am jealous. xx

I hope you're having an amazing time in HK. I'm so jealous. How are you finding the food? :)

Sounds like you got the beauty side of the trip sorted. If anything, I'd also recommend getting lots of snacks to bring home (family will love it!) Aji Ichiban is super expensive now, but there are bakeries and snack shops everywhere :)

Jealous! Hong kong is my hometown and Sasa is a must! Like Dorothy said, Sogo is great fun for Hello Kitty stuff (although I remembered there was one in Picadilly ages ago, dunno if it's still there). Chinese drugstores like Watsons - you can find some excellent chinese remedies like white flower oil, great for muscle aches, motion sickness and sinus relief! Also, if you can get your hands on an ointment called 974, pronounced "gao chut say" - this little tin is a lifesaver for sudden weird itchy rashes or insect bites. I stock pile them as they are crazy cheap, like 70 cents for a lipbalm tin and give some away to friends who call it the magical ancient chinese remedy.

yay! glad your enjoying hong kong! It is my favourite city :) Also glad you are understanding the whitening thing more because that is the whole reason i do it, not to look white, but just to appear brighter and stop the sun from damaging my skin! the idea is exactly like why people like to tan but we are just going the other way and for me, tanning just gives me a yellower complexion rather than the western olive tone.
Humidity is bitch!

i didn't understand the whitening thing either until I went to Malaysia and saw everyone with umbrellas. I thought it was just to shade from the heat, but how wrong was I?! It was to avoid getting darker, whilst I was trying my hardest to soak up the rays.
