Aerin Lauder is very very well known in the U.S. She does much more than simply sit on the board of Estee Lauder. She has recently been a Creative Director of the company, has developed several best-selling fragrances, and was instrumental in bringing Tom Ford to Estee Lauder years ago. Although I think the Tom Ford line is completely overrated, I am beyond excited to see what Aerin will bring to her own line. She always speaks of honoring her grandmother and her family/company heritage. I do not mean to sound rude, but I am I am surprised that as a beauty editor you are not more familiar with this impressive woman!

Hi Nina.. to be fair, we are far less exposed in the UK to her activities or accomplishments than in the US. Of ccourse I know a certain amount about her but this blog is not written with the assumption that everyone else does. My point that it looks like everything else that comes out of Lauder I will completely stand by, but my apologies if you feel that it was insensitive to her achievements. I agree... she is a phenomenon. x

No need to apologize at all! I am just surprised that the company has not associated her internationally with the products she has "nurtured" - the new versions of the Private Collection fragrance range, Tom Ford (again, unimpressive), and her generally being the new corporate face of the brand. She is quite stunning and tall - very much a British-type beauty!
