As far as I know the Simple Eye Make-Up Remover isn't discontinued, I hope it isn't anyway!
It's the only thing that doesn't irritate my eyes and it's a bargain too :)

Hi BBB, thanks for your recommendations. Do you know if the Simple eye make-up remover would take off waterproof mascara. I like to use the L'Oreal blue one (sorry don't know the correct name) but find it does not work for waterproof, so have reverted to the expensive Lancome BioFacial one with oil.
Thanks for your help. Sarah

Hi Anon....I can't tell you how it is for waterproof...so sorry. I don't wear mascara with lash extensions so am unable to test for that. (I have read reviews though that say there are better ones out there for waterproof removal.)

Thanks BBB, maybe I should just look at lash extensions they would I am sure be much less bother... may go back and search for your blog entry on these again.

Surprised to see your comment about glow re the Photoready - the word from the US is that this stuff is massively sparkly although apparently there's some inconsistency across batches in the level of sparkle.

Hi GreatShe - yes, it is a bit sparkly (and thats probably better illustrated when you've got proper daylight when applying..something I've not had for a few days!) - which I don't like particularly, but what I mean by glow is that kind of irridescence you get that isn't chunks of shimmer but more a light reflective thing? But your comment has made me think I need to apply from scratch in full daylight..so many thanks. jxx

Re lash extensions - when I had mine done I was told not to use anything with 'glycol' in it near my lashes, as this would dissolve the glue they use (and I use Liz Earle products, which do contain this). However, all my lashes fell out really quickly anyway. I would be interested to know which ones you use (mine were 'Hollywood Lashes' billed as lasting 2-3 months, but it was more like 2-3 weeks and at £89 quid and two hours to put them in, I thought it was a bit extravagant!

Hi a30lady: well, you were certainly mis-sold...lash extensions, if applied correctly, last the same time as your natural lash so after initial application you will start to lose lashes at your usual rate...there will be some drop out after 3 weeks which is when you should then have infills, and get on a rolling cycle. There is no way in the world that lash extensions can last 2-3 months. I have Flutter lash extensions (Kathryn is now at Urban Retreat at Harrods for a couple of days a week but runs a mobile service on other days). They certainly are costly to put in - 3 weekly infills are about £80 and intial application double that at least. It's an expensive luxury but I am sticking with it to my very last penny! You need to avoid anything oily around your eyes and I suspect your lashes disappeared so quickly because the glue bond was broken by oils and natural fall out.
