wow, That is just amazing.

That's fantastic advertising.

It's a gorgeous ad. But it's only a matter of time before it gets flagged on youtube. Some people will tolerate absolute airheaded nonsense but cannot bear the sight of a bit of artistically shot nudity. Especially if it's MALE nudity. Sigh. Props to Ren skincare, nevertheless.

I completely fail to see what it has to do with skincare, really :\

Where are we supposed to see this commercial? TV, cinemas?

Urgh...urgh...

I am not sure which one is better, perfume commercial with girls rolling in bed naked or this... At least REN got (or will get) what they were looking for: Media attention.

Wow you weren't kidding!

I get it, and it's beautifully shot, and it has and will get people talking so - well done them. I just hope we don't start seeing copycats who just do it because it's naughty...

and this is for....skin products?

errr......

Damn.. I'll never look at my glycolatic renwal mask the same way again.

Hmmm... I fail to see what's so "forward thinking" about this commercial. It's the same old sex sells sales concept, except they're not leaving anything up to the imagination. To me it's just pushing the envelope.

A beautiful ad about beautiful people having a beautiful experience. But does sex have to be used to sell everything? There is a part of me (maybe a cynical, mean part?) that asks whether REN is hiding behind the ad. Can it not stand alone and simply advertise itself...does it not think it is good enough to do just that so it has to hide behind this ad.
And it is beautiful to watch - yet I dont really enjoy watching other people having sex.Its a private act. Would I buy REN as a result of seeing the ad? Probably not.

My feelings are that it's just REN's way of putting themselves on the map and no more complex than that. I'm happy to be corrected though! Also slightly fascinated to know where/how this will be aired, or is that the point? Are we supposed to hear the whispers and go hunting for it?

Funny that so may people just do not get this. Uptight much? :D

So beautiful.

Unknown said...

Beautiful, I agree.

Therese said...

Not getting it is not the same as being uptight! There's nothing to 'get' in terms of what we see, it's people having sex. Duh! But I don't see the connection between this and skincare. It's beautifully shot and certainly not smutty. But why would we see this and thnk of Ren? Or any other skincare for that matter...?

Okay... I completely forgot what this ad is about, but I do feel cleaner.

I liked it. And the linguist me was happy hearing..hmm was it Swedish? Finnish?
I love REN...

Sophie, it's Swedish. And the ad leaves me colder than a Scandinavian winter. I think it's beautifully shot, but quite boring and I don't buy into the whole Nordic, blond and clean aesthetic (I'm Danish myself). For someone from a different cultural background, I guess it can be construed as exotic. For me, snoozefest - I've seen it all before. I love REN though.

Beautiful, flawless people having sex, Ren hasn't set-out to smash any stereotypes here!

Reminiscent of YSL & CK adverts with extra titillation and absence of class.

What next for pushing the envelope - a threesome? Two men? All done before in sexy and provocative style, so expect Ren's version to have extra tits and willies to make up for the lack of imagination.

Shame to see a great British brand (or is it faux Swedish now?) disappear up its own arse.

This video is a bit tongue in cheek, metaphorically as well as very literally :-)
I thought the ad was absolutely hilarious with some big laugh out loud moments!

Classic irony making such a dirty video from a brand calling itself clean!
