Looks great but they cut off a little of the writing at the end!

What software do they use to make these kinds of features?

there are various 'apps' that you can add onto your facebook page - one is called 'my tab' and it allows you to customise a tab on your facebook page. I don't know exactly what to do from there, but have been meaning to have a play with it for a little while!

That's gorgeous. Could easily do those for you... it's an image that's been laid out like a magazine page in some sort of creative program (Fireworks is my guess).

How have you been, by the way? I have truly and seriously disappeared from everything... life in the midwest just pulls me further and further away!

Photoshop, Illustrator or Indesign would be what the designer did it in, then it would be put up in iframes. If you have the design skills, then go for it. In my professional opinion, great for the odd standout piece, utter insanity for every post. To do this for every piece you write? Lots of time. I'd cry if any of my clients suggested doing something like this for every blog post I did for them.
