Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara is definitely one to give a try. It gives massive spidery lashes but it can go a little clumpy depending on the application technique.
like the sound of the Revlon Beyond Natural... sometimes I wish you could take the best bits of five or six different mascarasa (staying power, volume, non-glooping, colour, etc) and combine them in one ultimate tube. alas, the search continues, but will definately give the RBN a go, thanks x

Thought I saw a drugstore brand that has similar "toilet brush" appearance like the Phenomen' Eyes. Can't remember the name though.
